Artist Reflection
I wanted to capture realistic imagery using pen and ink of animals from a very close angle, specifically avoiding the eyes altogether throughout the set thought. We discussed the medium of using just pen and ink or also using washes of ink as well, which is what we ended up deciding on. For these images I have not begun inking them yet. I was particularly interested in depicting life/nature alongside adding elements of decay and death later on. We discussed going forward having these close ups be representative of the five senses, except sight, which if I use I want to save close ups of eyes for the pieces regarding decay/death.
