 New work

Reflection:

These pieces I wanted to explore color and realism when painting animals. I used watercolor and ink. During feedback, some of the words I got were organic, book, distorted, and realism. We discussed developing other animals with unique color schemes, even negatives, and using plaques to label the animal pieces, and maybe developing something of a book to push narrative across the pieces.

New work

Artist Reflection

I was given many words when reviewing my past work, such as photorealistic, studies, drama, detail, snapshot, movement, and narrative. I wanted to start by focusing on works from nature, like animals and the environment in some way. I enjoy doing studies and realistic drawings, so finding where I want to go with that will be my next step. Here, I've begun with rough sketches of animals and thumbnailing some first ideas. I work the most pen and ink and watercolors.
